Lido Information 2024

The Peterborough City Lido complex offers three heated pools, a 50-metre main pool, a teaching pool for children and a paddling pool for toddlers. There are three sunbathing terraces. Deck chairs are available for hire. A large grassed play area and a cafe serving hot and cold food, drinks, snacks and ice creams.

Well-qualified and friendly Lifeguards are present at all opening times. There are changing cubicles, for single swimmers, family groups or disabled swimmers, with colourful, secure lockers, and modern hot showers The Ladies’  toilets are situated to the left corner of the site and the gents’ to the right as in the original architect’s design. 

All areas except the sun terrace are accessible to disabled members. There are steps into the pool with a handrail or a disability hoist is available to assist disabled swimmers.

The disabled toilets and changing wet room are accessed using a standard Rada key. If needed the Duty Manager holds a master key on reception and can open the room on request.

Showers and lockers are available. A £1 coin or trolly token is needed to operate the lockers. NB. The coin drops down at the back of the door lock for you to pick up after you unlock your locker

During periods of hot weather please be aware that there may be a queue to gain admission. Remember to add a hat or sunshade and drinking water to your swimming kit.

Would Visitors please help to keep all areas clean and safe by disposing of all your rubbish in the bins provided.

If there are areas that cause you concern please report this to the reception staff so it can be dealt with as promptly as possible.

Please don’t be abusive to the pool staff this will not be tolerated. They will always do their best to be helpful.  

Children should be discouraged from running along the poolside.

Read the poolside notices in regard to safe diving and be aware of other swimmers.

Under 11’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Main pool
1 adult: 1 child Children under 4.
1 adult: 2 children Children aged 4-11 years. Non-swimmers must wear appropriate buoyancy aids and stay behind the red line.

Teaching pool
1 adult: 1 child Children under 4.
1 adult: 2 children Children aged 4-11 years. Non-swimmers must wear appropriate buoyancy aids.

* Please remember the Lifeguards are there to watch over the safety of all swimmers, they are not Childminders.

Vivacity operates a suitable swimwear policy that must be followed at all times.

Learning to swim is a life skill, every child should be taught.
