The Friends of Peterborough Lido (FOPL) are proud to be taking part in this year’s Dusk Till Dawn 12-Hour Swim Relay, an incredible overnight challenge that brings together endurance, teamwork and community spirit.
The event sees teams of swimmers relay through the night, swimming continuously from 7pm to 7am. This year, FOPL has entered a team of eight dedicated swimmers, each taking turns in the water for between one and three hours throughout the night to keep the relay going until dawn.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who help make events like this possible. Their support, encouragement and hard work behind the scenes are invaluable and ensure both participants and spectators can enjoy this unique experience.
The Dusk Till Dawn relay is much more than just a swimming event. It’s a night filled with swimming, sleeping, eating, dancing and, of course, more swimming! It promises to be an unforgettable challenge, and one that our team is excited to embrace together.
As well as testing themselves in the pool, participants are helping to raise money for Level Water, a charity that provides one-to-one swimming lessons for children with disabilities across the UK. These lessons give children the opportunity to learn an essential life skill, gain confidence in the water and develop a lifelong love of swimming.

Every contribution will help Level Water continue its fantastic work, providing children with disabilities access to specialist swimming lessons and opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
