For some years now the Friend of Peterborough Lido have discussed the possibility of adding our Lido’s colourful history at the pool for people to see.
Most suggestions on how to do this have not been feasible. However now one idea has now been reassessed resulting in a wonderful display which includes history pulled together for the FoPL book commemorating the Lido’s 90th year, photographs taken by FoPL and Vivacity over recent years and the marvellous images put together by the Museums exhibitions curator, Aimi Rowe.
At the lido something wonderful has happened. Do go and see it for your self

All 55 cubicle doors at Peterborough Lido have been transformed with a collection of memories to showcase ‘Life at the Lido’ over the last 90 years. The doors feature photographs from 1936 through to the present day, highlighting everything that makes the Lido so special 
The artwork has been generously funded by car retailer Big Motoring World:
“Peterborough is more than just home to our Fengate store and National Preparation Centre. Our commitment to the local community is reflected in our partnership with the iconic Peterborough Lido, supporting a heritage initiative that celebrates the history of this much-loved landmark while creating something lasting for residents and visitors to enjoy for years to come”.
