In May I did a fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation. It was my aim to walk 50 miles during May. I managed a total of 165. Of those miles I walked from home to the lido.
I had a few happy tears that day.

In times when I’ve been unwell I try and focus on the positives.. to me simple things – Hunstanton, the lido, my husband, son, family and friends.
Over the season I have embraced just floating – admiring the sky from the pool – bliss – to prepare myself for upcoming further treatment.
Thank you for a glorious 2025 season. If I had a dog I’d come along at the weekend!!
See you next year”
Anna, “ I come to the lido a few times a month and swim for 20-45 minutes. This is my recovery from an intensive rowing training programme. So I come purely for the enjoyment of outdoor swimming and to relax my muscles!
I feel the lido is one of Peterborough’s hidden gems. It’s a little sanctuary of tranquility, away from the hectic nature of everyday life. I’ve yet to see a single person leave the lido not smiling! Definitely one of my favourite places here.”

For me the highlights of the season are always the Friends pre and post season swims, the weekly early morning swims and my favourite, the early morning summer solstice swim.

Having been a regular lido user for a number of years I feel we are so lucky to have such a fantastic facility right on our doorstep and it is a great place to make friends with a lot of like minded people. My dad who is 96 , loves coming over to the lido too. We can’t wait for next season.

“Such a lovely summer, the pool was maintained at a nice temperature and kept clean. I met a lot of like minded people. Best summed up by the last day, What a beautiful Sunday morning.”

The problem:
The location of Swaffham!
50 miles from Peterborough Lido
48 miles from Beccles Lido
53 miles from Jesus Lido
The solution:
The X1 bus twice an hour from Norwich to Peterborough £3 single fare

Peterborough Lido a brilliant facility for sport, exercise, wellbeing, leisure and all round happiness!
It even has a cafe.
How does this happen
A brilliant group of people from different organisations working together to provide an amazing experience every day for 12 weeks. And less than 5 minutes from the city centre.
A big thank you to each and every person who supports the Lido.
Bring on 2026 – I can’t wait….Swaffham – yes that’s Norfolk!

“Thank you so much for all your work as The Friends and Vivacity Peterborough Lido .
We didn’t think that we would have the Lido this year, and you have made that happen. Everyone involved at a functional level has been so enthusiastic and done everything they could to keep our Lido for the swimmers of the city.”

“The lido means so much to me. Then realised the health benefits and what it does for me going there every morning, so when they tried to mothball it I felt compelled to do something and it’s by coincidence that I formed the Lido Belles. Anyway I bought us all our hats and we are getting noticed I’m so proud of us all and what we are achieving. How I miss it not being open at the weekend!!”
See you next year”
