300 people came along on the night of 29th August to join in the fun of this, the last midnight swim of the 2025 summer season.

The floodlit lido looked amazing and to swim under the night’s waxing crescent moon was magical. The weather was kind and the Lido looked spectacular.

So calm ….Just about to open …what a sky

It was so wonderful to see so many people there, all age groups having such a lovely happy time. The teaching pool was busy with children having fun with beach balls  and inflatables etc. It was   especially good to see so many families coming out  for the event together.  Many people brought picnics and made a party of the evening.

The night swims are obviously very popular, with so many requests for these to be a monthly event. Every comment made was so positive.

The Lido Belles looked absolutely fabulous with their wonderful 1930s style swim hats adorned with lights, and matching swimwear. They certainly raised many a smile.

One lady visiting from Chesterfield commented “This wonderful facility must never close”.

We agree.

12.15am and the end of a Magical Midnight Swim with many more happy lido memories made.Time to go home
