A Sensational Summer Solstice Sunrise Swim ! What a great turn out with approximately 400 swimmers having fun together as the sun came up .

In the water at 4am for a fabulous Solstice Sunrise swim. The Lido is looking great, really good to see a good crowd, the water is a lovely temperature, the Lido staff are doing an amazing job. Apparently the sunset swim is well booked also. Well done to all concerned.

The Summer Solstice swims at Peterborough lido are always well attended events and this year’s sunrise swim was no exception, it was absolutely packed and perfect weather to view the sunrise at 4.42am.
For me the Sunrise Solstice swims are a much anticipated event on my swim calendar, and as a FoPL (Friends of Peterborough Lido) volunteer, I arrived around 3.15am to join the FoPL chair and volunteer Clare, to help set up for when the gates opened at 4.00am.
I had a great swim, the pool and temperature was perfect.
A big thank you to all the management and staff at the facility for what was once again a fantastic event. I’ve said it before, we are so lucky to have this fantastic facility right on our doorstep.
