Lido Weed Attack

Maintenance Day Update.

Further to our previous post, and as part of our determination to ensure the proliferation of weeds across the lido site doesn’t become unmanageable over the Winter months, we confirm that our Weed Attack maintenance session is taking place on Thursday 10th September between 10.00am and 2.00pm.

A number of offers of help have already been received – a huge thank you to those members of the Friends who have volunteered, and we look forward to seeing you on Thursday.  If any other lido supporters would like to join us please let us know that you will be attending as soon as possible.  Members of the Friends have already received an email with full details of the day, and others replying to this website post will be contacted by our Chair to confirm those details.
Covid-19 Precautions:  We need to know numbers attending in order to ensure we can maintain social distancing requirements both outside and inside the lido premises, and where it is not possible to maintain a 2-metre distance, we ask that face masks are worn if at all possible.   We are recommending that no more than two people visit the toilet areas at any one time, and common sense will be required when fetching drinks from the cafe area for tea/coffee (which will be provided free of charge – but please bring your own mug/drinking vessel).  It is shame to have to implement these steps when meeting up with fellow swimmers after such a long time as we will all have much to talk about, but we need to be sensible and everyone’s co-operation would be appreciated .. these measures are necessary to ensure the safety of us all.
Volunteers are asked to bring their own tools (patio weeders and trugs/receptacles for the collection of weeds would be most useful) although some spare equipment will be available if you don’t have your own.
Once again – please do let us know if you intend to join us on Thursday, and we look forward to seeing some of you again then.

* Thank you to all those who have sent their apologies as they are unavailable on this particular date; we do appreciate all your support. *
