A Solstice Sunrise Swim

By 4am this morning, on the Summer Solstice, the birds were singing and the skies were almost clear of clouds. The Eastern skies glowed with the promise of a wonderful sunrise. By 4.30am the blue water in our Lido was rippling to about 25 dedicated swimmers.

Sunrise this morning was 04.38am but because of the mature trees in the City we had to wait a little longer for the sun to rise above the tree line and to light up the pool.

We all had a wonderful refreshing morning swim. About 30 people in total. The water was a barmy 27 degrees much warmer than the air temperature. The warm pink Vivacity blankets were put to good use keeping the cool winds at bay. A full English breakfast was cooked up by Josh and Hannah and appreciated by all.
